Do you have a favorite black?
I like Aurora Black. I have a sample of J. Herbin Perle Noir that I haven’t yet tried. These two blacks are often compared and users seem evenly divided in preference. However, my favourite black is Faber-Castell Carbon Black. It is noticeably more saturated than Aurora, and has the similar lovely flow characteristics. I understand your lack of enthusiasm for black inks, but I find they are the answer for pens that have dry or temperamental flow characteristics and EF nibs.
