Earlier this week, I announced that I’m giving away a bunch of Brush Dance Journals.
I’ve received so many lovely comments about the Journals and wanted to take some time to answer some of the questions and comments. Remember, though, Brush Dance is my company, I had a hand in the design of these books, Brush Dance is supplying the books for the giveaway, and I am biased. Whew, that’s a lot of disclaimer!
Are these Journal/Notebooks Fountain Pen Safe?
You betcha! I’m a big ole pen/ink/paper nerd and I personally chose the paper that goes into the creation of these Journals.
Let me show you a couple of quick writing samples.
The full sheet . . .
The back of the sheet . . .
The back is a little difficult to see – but if you look closely, there is a dot between the 3rd and 4th lines. That is some of the J Herbin (love that color!) barely peeking through. It didn’t show up in this scan, but I can see a bit of the Sharpie through the paper. Not bleeding through – just a tiny bit showing.
There is zero bleeding. None. You can definitely write on both sides of the sheet. The paper is smooth without being too slippery. You know how Clairefontaine and Rhodia can sometimes seem almost too coated and the ink takes longer to dry on the page because of that? This paper is not like that.
Where Are All of the Masculine Designs?
The vast majority of our customers are female, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t love you guys, too. We have some new projects in the works that will have more masculine designs. In the meantime, here are some items we have that the men we know say they like best…
Featuring the Art of Paul Bond
Japanese Garden 2014 Date Book
Moon Games 2014 Date Book
Featuring the Photography of Laurent Laveder
Our Date Books are also good for fountain pen use. The paper is not as thick and there is a bit more showing through, but no bleeding.
So..that was only two questions…but, really, I’m so longwinded that’s probably a good thing!
The giveaway is open until Tuesday! Leave a post here or on the original message to be entered to win. I’m giving away one Journal for every ten people who enter (up to ten winners!).
Oh..and thank you for stopping by…this is the most traffic my little blog has ever seen. I’m doing the happy dance over here!
Thank you for the info on the paper. I was in love with the covers and now I have another reason to love these journals!
The covers are such fun. Glad to read the info on using pens as I constantly experiment in pen types and colors of ink:)
Oooh I love the Japanese Garden datebook. I'm curious to see the other photos inside. It is so great that the pages can handle different medium. I like Sharpies and other pens that tend to bleed.
Hi, nice books, nice giveaway. Thanks
