J Herbin Bleu Ocean (1670)
A very nice shade of blue. This ink was released on the heels of the ultra-sheeny, super special J Herbin Rouge Hematite. There was some disappointment in the fountain pen community that this ink wasn’t more special.
I tend to agree. What do you think?
OMG OMG OMG I love this ink. Sailor Kobe #26 Wadamisaki Blue is a terrific ink. I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed it for the blog. I know I’ve posted about it on Instagram, but it’s been so long that I can’t find it.

I’m feeling the need to try more turquoise inks. Which is your favorite?
Private Reserve – American Blue
American Blue from Private Reserve is a terrific ink. The color is fab and it writes wonderfully in each of the pens I’ve used it with.
(Someone needs to come along and restructure my sentence so it doesn’t end with a preposition.)
Parker Quink is a good solid blue ink. Many people love the long history and great reputation of the Quink line. The ink works well in most pens.
I tend to want more specialness from my inks, but have no complaints about Washable Blue.
Tell me – do you like the standard colors? or are you like I am and chase the more unconventional shades?
I very much like the Pelikan Edelstein line of inks. They are generally well-saturated and write well with a variety of pens. Topaz is a great color.

Lamy Turquoise
I’ll say this about Lamy: they sure get the names of their inks right.
I don’t know if I’ve ever written with Lamy inks – I don’t think so. Those cartridges that come with the pens – I send those off to a friend. The inks are well-regarded – I just have no experience with them.
What about you?
Akkerman #6 Binnenhof Blues
I’ve not tried this ink yet. It’s a lovely bright blue, though. Do you have experience with it?
Caran d’Ache Caribbean Sea is another among the discontinued line of Caran d’Ache inks.
I’ve not written with this ink. Teals are generally not my cup of tea. What do you think of this color?
