FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

After I posted about my anniversary gift from Mr. Pentulant, I came across this book of colors that has apparently been making the rounds and this digitally produced book of colors.

The Pen Addict reviewed Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai ink. Look at how bright the color looks in the cap, but deepens quite a bit on the paper.

FP Physicist has a sweet giveaway going on until the end of the month.

Pens! Paper! Pencils! shows off Diamine Cerise. I’m going to have to dig through my samples and see if I have this one.

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

Before we get started with what I’ve been reading, I wanted to remind you that I’m giving away a Neon Coral Lamy Safari. You gotta be in it to win it.

Here’s where I’ve been reading . . .

This FPN thread about Nathan Tardiff (founder of Noodler’s Inks), his politics, and his elusiveness had me smiling.

Ed Jelley didn’t love the Kaweco Liliput, but I might want one anyway. What do you think?

FP Geeks has a review of the Chicago Pen Show

Letter Writers Alliance let us know that the circus is coming to town – or at least to a post office near you!

Oh no. They didn’t? Could this be a much-delayed April Fool’s joke from FP Geeks?

Look at this find from Colassal.  I have to say, I’m toying with the idea of creating a book – this makes me think I could (but it probably wouldn’t be as cool as this, so don’t get all excited).

A reopened FPN discussion about ink samples makes me think I should take some really good pictures of mine for you. And this thread is about samples, too, and makes me think I’d be pretty good at designing samples. How about you?

I’m hungry.

And thirsty!

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

Here’s what I’ve been reading this week…

My Supply Room shows off his Lamy Rollerball collection.

FP Geeks looks at the Montegrappa Fortuna. Generally, I’ve not been a fan of Montegrappa, but there’s something about these that catches my eye.

Gourmet Pens has beautiful handwriting.

Ed Jelley loves Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo and is lukewarm on Maruman Mnemosyne Word Cards.

The Well-Appointed Desk is pretty in green.

Mr. Mike Dudek from The Clicky Post loves a TWSBI deal (that color!).

I’m hungry.

And thirsty.

Some dude on FPN gives us a list – I don’t agree with everything, I don’t disagree with everything. I should make a list. What would be on yours?

Where have you been hanging out this week?

Have a great weekend, friends.

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

Montblanc Heritage 1912 Fountain Pen

It’s Friday and that means another installment of what I’ve been reading lately.

But first – the above picture is my fancy new pen. A full blown review is coming Monday – be sure to check back. Spoiler: I’m in love.

On to some long overdue link love . . .

FP Quest lists Five Favorite Modern Fountain Pens

FP Geeks were talking an awful lot about Nakaya.  Here, here, and here.  (Temptation is running high, folks!)

I’ve been trying brush pens with little success. (OMG, it’s ugly.) I came across this blog post over on Jet Pens and have decided that maybe I need better tools. Different tools. We’ll see.

Brian Goulet interviewed Nathan Tardif of Noodler’s Pens. It’s informative, entertaining, and . . . interesting.

I’m in love with My Supply Room. Maybe not these pens – wrestlers? Really?

No Pen Intended reviews Da Vinci stone paper – a Kickstarter project.

Finally, those who have been reading here for awhile (hi, honey) know that I love me some Instagram. It’s fast, easy, and fun – and you need to not only follow me, but also follow this great group of visual bloggers . . .

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

Hope you all have had a good week.  Here’s what I’ve been reading over the last couple of weeks . . .

Ed Jelley checked out Field Notes Shelterwood – I don’t have mine yet.

Good Pens reviewed Ohto Graphic Liner – I think I want one, or two, no more than five.

The Well-Appointed Desk gave us a closer look at J Herbin Rose Cyclamen. Do you like it?

Do you want one of these? Or two? No more than five? I’m undecided. Maybe the red?

Jotters from My Supply Room make me swoon!

People seem to love the FriXion Gel Pens. No Pen Intended is among those people. Maybe I’ll give them a try.

Fountain Pen Quest reviewed an Esterbrook. I have mixed feelings about Esties – more on that another day.

Guerrilla artists in Ohio are coooool.

Will you be getting any (all?) of the Pilot Metallic Vanishing Point Fountain Pens? I like the blue – and maybe the green – purple is always a hit around here, too.

Oh yeah, and last but not least, I ordered one of these. BOOM!

Found Around Friday

Happy Friday!

Before we get started with this week’s finds, I want to remind you that I have a giveaway going on right now. You only have until Monday to enter.

And we’re off …

Pens! Paper! Pencils! had a look at the Noodler’s Konrad and Rhodia Pencils.

Pen Addict reviewed a look at Sailor Bung Box Blue Black (what a name!).

Long Island Pen Show was last weekend – Ed Jelley has a recap.

Gourmet Pens posted a pretty incredible photo.

My Supply Room is back! Have you ever read this blog? I love that George ends all of his posts with something like, “Add these to your collection.”

Tell me, what do you have going on this weekend? Will you be writing letters? Doodling? Or maybe just hanging out? Whatever your plans – have a great weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

Welcome to another edition of Found Around Friday!

Here’s what I’ve been looking at and reading lately….

FPN members discussed leather.  Here’s a link to Zenok Leather – I know I’m going to have one of these one day.

Inkdependence has a fun Wordless Wednesday series.

I just inked my Esterbrook pens this week. LOVE!

I might love these templates. I’d use them for my Midori. Or maybe these stickers? Or maybe even something pre-printed from this shop?

Noodler’s announced some fancy new nibs. I’m thinking I’ll pass on their pens and nibs – but I adore Noodler’s inks.

The Clicky Post is giving away a boatload of Doane Paper. Time’s almost up.

Unroyal Warrant takes a close look at a Retro 51 Fountain Pen. I’m going to pass on this one.

What have you been reading? Or maybe you’ve found a fun little accessory you’d like to share?

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY – ONE DAY EARLY!

Happy Thursday!

Here’s what I’ve been reading this week . . .

Well, thank goodness!

SF Pen Show – can’t wait!

If I didn’t work from home, I’d totally do what From the Pen Cup did.

Inkdependence is doing what I’m doing – I’ll need to get you some pictures soon.

No Pen Intended didn’t enjoy the Ohto Tasche. I’m especially sorry to see this as I have been loving the Ohto F-Lapa and was hoping the goodness continued through the line.

Do you like pink inks? Turns out I do. See what Peninkcillin has to say.

Pen Paper Pencil talks about Pilot Iroshizuku Ina-ho. Do you like this color? Not me. Ick.

The Frugal Fountain Pen reviews the Pilot Petit 1 Mini Fountain Pen – $4!

I have a thing for orange inks. The Pen Addict reviews a great looking Sailor Jentle ink.

Did you see that Akkerman has new smaller bottle of ink? (OMG, those bottles!) I placed my order yesterday.

OK, what do you have your eyes on? Do you have a blog I’ve not mentioned? I’d love to start reading your posts.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a look at Instagram and who I’m following there.

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY

Midori Traveler’s Notebook – Full Size

I’ve been all about my Midori Travelers Notebook (MTN) this week. I finally finally went to Michael’s (the craft store) and found some hardware for it. You can find the bits and bobs in the jewelry making department.

And see the elastic? I removed the boring brown one that came with the MTN and replaced it with a one that has some variation to the colors. You might have to look closely, but this one transitions from purple (on the left side) to blue. I’m thinking this elastic won’t hold up quite as well as the Midori, but I don’t mind changing colors so this won’t be a big deal for me.

I’m not thrilled with the pen loop – it’s too small for any fountain pen of size – maybe I need to stretch it a bit? Right now, I have a Stylist in there. You may wonder why I’d clip the loop to the front of the book instead of the back? I don’t want the clip to scratch any surfaces I may set the Notebook upon.

Here’s a look at what others have been up to this week . . .

FP Quest reviewed an ink I’ve not tried.

Informal Scribble made a beautiful mess.

Pen Paper Pencil reviewed an ink that I didn’t love, but can appreciate.

The Pen Addict reviewed a pen that is going to find it’s way to my wish list!

The Unroyal Warrant talked about Scout Books – did you know about this brand? Not me.

Hot Topics I’ve been following over on Fountain Pen Network . . .

This person was looking for pen suggestions. Not an uncommon theme on FPN, but so many responses came in – probably because the writer was detailed with his questions?

$1400 for a nib?

Scented inks – love or hate? Discuss here.

A hilarious thread.

That’s it from me! What about you? What do you have your eye on?

Have a great weekend!  xoxox
